After completing my Master's degree in psychology, I was able to spend several years researching doctor-patient communication in emergency medicine as part of a PhD project at the University Hospital Basel. After a subsequent 2.5-year stay in the USA, where I built up in-depth language skills in English, I continued to work in research for several years.
However, my desire to work directly with people and help them with emotional challenges grew stronger and stronger. I therefore began further training to become a federally recognized psychotherapist with a cognitive-behavioural focus - a well-founded, scientifically established form of therapy with which I identify both professionally and personally. I trained clinically as a psychotherapist at the outpatient clinic of Psychiatrie Baselland. In this role, I was able to gain a wide range of experience in addition to my therapeutic work - from crisis intervention to leading a DBT group therapy to forensic assessments. Supervising young colleagues also had a particular impact on me. This made me realize how valuable it is to be there for others with presence, structure and heart.
Today, I am delighted to bring this wealth of experience to the Heart-Based Center - a place where professional expertise and genuine humanity go hand in hand.
